Dees is an austrian vocal and multiinstrumental artist with southafrican roots.
As all human beings Dees startet singing shortly after she was born. Like many female musicians with her first band she had to lie to her parents and sneak out to rehearse the forbidden way – guess its still not the easiest thing for a father imagining his 13 Year old girl meeting regularly with a bunch of boys in different cellars outside town… With her first band „Sonance“ (voc: Georg Sobernig, Desirée Mostetschnig, guit: Gregor Münch, base: Konrad Überbacher, drum: Thomas Prix) she visited Spain, in the year 2000 they produced the album „primordial quarx vacuum fluctuation“. The band considered itself family but with the early death of drummer Thomas Prix, sonance dissolved as always planned if one should ever leave the band. By that time music was already a big part of her life. After completing University she did long time travels to Ghana, Nicaragua, India and many European Countries as well. Worked at the Cultural Department at ORF Vienna, did elementary music and movement pedagogy at Mozarteum Salzburg, founded and lead a private kindergarten and started a business as resilience trainer at Loop Gmbh. Being part of the Project „Recordings of Now“, in Klagenfurt during the first Austrian Lockdown due to Covid-19 in March 2020, she decided to commit herself fully to music. Apart from producing and performing in different formations she is doing vocal workshops to help people getting a better relationship to their voice, improve their endogenic skillset, heal and enjoy themselves while following their human desire to sing.
